After doing a few tweeks

and adding content.... :) my website works, full of content and yeah i like it :)

few snap shots :)

1st draft of the new website design

I think its improved however when asking the teachers, they said it still lacks in graphics.
So after that i made the nav bar in a simular sought of pattern. However lighter so it could stand out.

After more feedback, again just lacked colour now. so i decided to make something out of the pattern out the floral pattern. (a leaf)
I created this as the content (picture is on a low opacity)
actually such simple things made a massive difference. After that i just needed to progress with my logo. Looking through my sketchbook at my designs,  I advanced with a particular design that stood out. The first thing i thought of for some reason was the rolls royce logo (Which is good because its classy/modern and works really well.)

which ended up looking like this

font research?

When i was researching font familys to use that are websafe. I found this useful chart that tells me what fonts are mac and windows friendly.
Link: http://www.ampsoft.net/webdesign-l/WindowsMacFonts.html

I will use Helvectica, Arial etc.

I've looked at...?

I've looked at a couple of websites of the floral design. This is basically what i want to do. I want to incoropate the floating content with the design on the other website.  I like how it is fairly restrected on the first website. (I think it gives you more interaction website.) Looking at number 2 website its a bit bland. However having a floating content stands out from the grey boring background.  There have used a nice serif font on both of them as its alot easier to use and read. (which i will need to research in next blog entry.) I will use picture 3 as a background however i think having a darker colour will bring out the content a bit more so i will inverse this image and make the white bits a grey.

Actually got some feed back...?

Just had crit. Some good points and bad points:

Likes:
like the float effect
like the colour scheme

dislike:
bit bland
boring
no real visual aspect

After this  i had to rethink my options.  I need to put more graphics in to it.
After university,  i went to my sisters flat and in her lounge she has a floral/modern effect to her living room, so thought that would look really smart/arty/modern.

this sought of pattern;

i think it would be such a simple change just to change it to a background but really effective.

Web Assignment

Okay, So We got a web assignment. Its been a couple of days and once you get into coding its really not to bad. I've got ideas of mainly using black/white/orange/blue. (sketches in sketchbook)

These are the colours ill be using,

black and white as key colours for the background and text.
blue for nav bar
orange for footer

After making a quick mock up,  i figured that this is what it would sought of look like. baring in mind you can see the orange bit as its under the fold.
